It was a hot August day in Charlotte, NC. My art director and I were concepting Hostess social posts when we had the idea to make a weird post people would probably ignore: peanut butter pickle-flavored Twinkies. We were wrong; the post went viral, and we got a stern talking-to from the client. But not before we got a whole lot of earned media.
